Detachables

Choosing a detachable

  • Lemo connectors are in a class all on their own.

The housings are made of chrome-plated brass, which is why they only come in 2 colors (from the factory) - ask us about custom paint! (reach out on discord / email <3 )

The collet nuts are custom sized to match the thickness/diameter of the wire they are connected to (which is the reason for the wide range of sizes and tolerances on the collet).

The solder / contact points are protected from the housing with a 2-piece shell.

The mated pairs for a socket and plug on each half are machined to within a fraction of a fraction of a millimeter and so the seating of the cable feels like an engineered piece of machinery more than a simple cable disconnect.

Additionally the connector includes rails and sliders inside to ensure a perfect fit when socketing both sides together every time.

Lastly, there is an indicator dot on the outside of the shell to clearly demark where the connection points should be aligned and how to socket them together.

Premium in every way. There is no substitute.

  • Weipu connectors are a fantastic alternative to genuine LEMO connectors. The SF10 series is also made of a chrome-plated, solid Brass housing similar to LEMO. The locking collar mechanism is must sturdier than a YC8 and the fit / tolerances are much tighter across all contact points, compared to a YC8, for example.

  • Avaitor (also known as GX16) connectors have two halves, a prong and plug half, each with their own pins / etc. and then a collar that spins freely on one side and screws securely on the other side.

  • The most accessible push pull option by far.

YC8 are typically only made of aluminum, have the least clear delineation of how to connect the two halves, and are the least "secure" in terms of actually holding the two halves together.

While unlikely to ever separate, there's a definite lack of fit-and-finish on the housings resulting in a less premium feeling connector overall.

  • Made to look like a LEMO.

These connectors come in a wide range of sizes, shapes, and weights, but generally are made of cheaper materials and don't offer the same tolerances resulting in the signature fit and finish of a genuine LEMO connector.

We don’t offer FEMO connectors for a variety of reasons, but mostly so that any cable we send with a LEMO connector is always guaranteed to be fit with only GENUINE parts sourced directly from LEMO.

Lemo

We feel like there are two types of keyboard enthusiasts in the world … those who love LEMO connectors … and those who haven’t tried them yet.

We believe the fanatical attention to detail, the ridiculously tight tolerances, as well as the most solid and tactile connector seating can’t be found in any other push-pull connector on the market. LEMO connectors are also the ONLY connectors made of chrome-plated brass as opposed to lighter and cheaper aluminum. You know how you love the feel of that killer brass weight in your favorite board? Yeah … that’s the magic of Brass ;)

We currently offer these Genuine, Swedish-made LEMO connectors in either black or silver colourways and in both 1B (Large / Double Sleeved) as well as 0B (Small / Single Sleeved) sizes.

Weipu

The Weipu SF10 series is IP67 connector made of brass with chrome plating, especially designed for enthusiasts in various the high-end markets. Leveraging a push and pull coupling mechanism, these connectors are some of the most popular waterproof connectors available on the market.

While not quite on the same level of quality as a Genuine LEMO, we believe that the SF-10 series offered by Weipu are a really solid way of elevating your next cable build without necessarily committing to a LEMO connector.

We currently offer Weipu SF-10 series connectors in their default, silver colorway.

Aviator (GX16)

Color List

Our aviator connectors are a great way to add a more substantial look to your cable while also enabling an easy disconnect / reconnect option for your favorite keyboards.

Aviator connectors have both prong and socketed ends with the socketed end also having a small collar that screws into the collar of the other, paired, end. These detachables take a few seconds of spinning the collar to undo and are very secure when just sitting on your desk or getting jostled around.

These connectors are available in 4 and 5 pin designs. When assembling our 4 and 5 pin connectors we leverage the wiring diagram inset below:

Push-Pull (YC8)

Silver Only

Our push-pull connectors add a sophisticated and industrial look to whatever custom cable you can dream up and also provide a simple disconnect / reconnect option for your favorite keyboards.

These connectors have both prong and socketed ends with a sliding collar on the <> end that is pulled back to release the two sides of the connector from each other. Generally, push-pull connectors are much easier / faster to disconnect and reconnect than aviators but don’t offer the same color options as they are only available in a silver finish.

These connectors are available in 4 pin configuration with 5 pin configs available upon request. When assembling our 4 and 5 pin connectors we leverage the wiring diagram inset below:
