Sleeving

550 Nylon Paracord.jpg

Paracord

Color List

Nylon paracord has a very dense weave with minimal expansion capability and a smooth glossy fabric feel (like you’d expect Nylon to have). Offered in a wide array of colors and patterns, paracord also allows the greatest level of customization for the base sleeve of any keyboard cable.

Techflex

Color List

Most commonly known as Techflex, this sleeving material is most commonly used by cable makers as a secondary or double sleeve. The very large expansion capability and looser weave allows the inner (or primary) sleeve to show through. Techflex has a similarly rugged and plasticy feel to MDPC-X will provide your cables with a stronger exterior less likely to fray or wear due to abrasion.

MDPC-X

Color List

MDPC has a long history of product excellence in the custom sleeving space. They’ve made a name for themselves being “the best” when it comes to molex connectors and PC power supply sleeving and cabling. We believe that making the best custom mechanical keyboard cables only comes from using the best materials so naturally, MDPC-X was our other go-to for durable, highly expandable sleeving.

Detachables

GX16 (Aviator)
Not Available

Our aviator connectors are a great way to add a more substantial look to your endgame cable while also providing an easy disconnect / reconnect option for your favorite keyboards.

Aviator connectors have both prong and socketed ends with the socketed end also having a small collar that screws into the collar of the other, paired, end. These detachables take a few seconds of spinning the collar to undo and are very secure when just sitting on your desk or getting jostled around.

YC8 (Push-Pull)
Not Available

Our push-pull connectors add a sophisticated and industrial look to whatever custom cable you can dream up and also provide a simple disconnect / reconnect option for your favorite keyboards.

These connectors have both prong and socketed ends with a sliding collar on the <> end that is pulled back to release the two sides of the connector from each other. Generally, push-pull connectors are much easier / faster to disconnect and reconnect than aviators but don’t offer the same color options as they are only available in a silver finish.

Lemo

Lemo Connectors are the premium detachable available for custom mechanical keyboard cables … period.

These sweedish-made 4-pin push-pull connectors are completely over-engineered and completely overkill for USB connection applications … and that’s exactly what we’re about.

If you’re looking for the smoothest, tightest action, the cleanest looking assembly, and the highest quality connectors you can buy, then look no further than our Lemo connected and custom cables.

Heatshrink

MDPC-X & TechFlex

MDPC-X doesn’t do anything half way. It’s for that reason we love their sleeving products as well as their heatshrink. MDPC-X heatshrink is a fantastic option when looking for a high quality heatshrink boasting a phenomenal 3.4.1 shrink ratio.

Connectors

USB-A

USB type A connectors are typically used on the PC side of cables and easily recognizable for their flat rectangular shape.

USB-C

As newest USB interface on the market, USB-C is most appreciated for it’s reversible and symmetrical design and ease of insertion.

Mini USB

Not to be confused with USB Type B, USB mini-b connectors are often found in peripherals and older mechanical keyboard designs, USB mini-b connectors are asymmetrical and can only be inserted one way.

Micro USB

Micro USB connectors made a huge push a few years back into many electronic devices. Micro USB became heavily pervasive in smartphones a few years back before the advent of USB-C.

Wire

UL 2725

The wire we’ve sourced for all our cables is UL 2725 certified. What does this mean? It means it’s the real deal. A full USB 2.0 spec wire with 4x28awg tinned copper cores, aluminum foil shielding, braided shielding, and a drain wire for proper 5-pin connections.

We, much like you, take our wire selection as seriously as we take all the rest of “hobbies”.

Note: We also have UL2464 wire available upon request for custom commissions, but generally recommend our standard wire for a greater range of compatibility with paracord sleeving.
